Oppdal Ski Testival 2010

This weekend Bjørn and I attended the Oppdal Ski Testival. This is a 3-day event including two days closed only for dealer ski testing and one day open for all.

Due to very little snow in the mountains of Oppdal, testing of freeride- and touring skis was a challenge. The Oppdal Ski Testival was first arranged last year and on extremely good snow conditions. Thanks to good weather, happy dealers and very good logistics from the Oppdal Booking-crew with Tore Meirik in charge, this year's event came out as a big success.

We have probably the best demo pool ever this year. With 28 pairs of skis - incl everything from Megawatt 188 with Marker Jester bindings to the brand new super lightweight Guru 166 with Dynafit bindings - we are able to show and demonstrate what we and Black Diamond stands for and have to offer the hungry freeride- and touring skiers in Norway.

In addition to the ski pool mentioned, we have of course our demo pool of freeride- and AT lightweight boots that are new from the coming fall 2010. The feedback from testers was exactly what we wanted and somehow expected - the boots skis like hell! The focus on the stride when touring and the Triax Pivot Frame Technology, got very good feedback (see web page link below). The fit is kept perfectly and is just what people expect from Black Diamond after the Black Diamond Factor release and success.

With warm tea and good down jackets, we almost survived the weekend.... Better wool soles in our Kamik boots, could helped a bit. When Mr. Celsius says -17 and the cold winds blow in from the plains below........ Brrrrr....

We give you some pictures taken when we were not busy with customers and please check out the Black Diamond Ski Web at http://skibd.bdel.com. You can also contact us if you like to test skis and the new line for fall 2010. We are at the Fjellsportfestival in Sogndal next week and the demo pool is based in Hemsedal when not out travelling.
